JOIN THE ZOO CREW!

If you like working with animals and people, then the Volunteer or Internship Programs at Lazy L Safari Park may work for you.  Volunteers and interns must be at least 18 years of age and meet certain requirements.  

We are looking for participants who are enthusiastic and willing to learn.  No experience necessary - training is provided.  

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteers at the zoo are needed for a variety of services including, but not limited to, being a tour guide, maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, building exhibits, and helping with special events at the zoo.  Volunteers are also needed to help with educational programs such as camps, classes, and workshops held at the zoo.  A few select volunteers may be trained to help with educational talk presentations and animal rides.

All volunteers will receive free admission and a Zoo Crew T-Shirt to wear while volunteering at the zoo.  

To be a volunteer involves a time commitment and reliability.  All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation Meeting & Training Meeting(s) for their appropriate job.  Volunteers provide a helping hand to the zoo staff and are greatly appreciated!

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Internships at the zoo may be offered in the following areas for 2011:  

• Educational Programs
• Event Planning
• Marketing / Public Relations
• Zookeeper

We are currently looking for college students who are pursuing an education or a career in one of the above areas. The internships will be used to implement new programs for the zoo in 2011.  If you are interested in getting hands on experience in your field, then please consider an internship at Lazy L Safari Park during our 2011 season.
